Beth & Ant’s Relaxed Wedding at Stratton Court Barn
If you’re dreaming of a relaxed, joy-filled celebration in the heart of the countryside, Beth & Ant’s wedding at Stratton Court Barn in May will be right up your street. As a wedding photographer in Northampton, I adore capturing days that are as chilled as they are beautiful — and this one ticked all the boxes for gorgeous light, happy people, and good vibes all round.
A Barn Wedding with Laid-Back Charm
Stratton Court Barn is one of those venues that immediately makes you feel at home - and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating too. Its rustic beams, cosy courtyard, and surrounding fields are perfect if you are planning a barn-style wedding - and in springtime it’s especially magical. The weather gave us that soft May sunshine that lasted well into the night. Every detail of their day felt thoughtful but never overly fussy - just like the couple themselves.
Good Vibes All Day Long
From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be one of those weddings where everyone is simply happy to be there. Everyone was so welcoming.
Beth’s dress was super simple but effortlessly beautiful while Ant couldn’t stop smiling the entire day, even during those moments when I snuck them away for couple portraits in the fields nearby -which gave them some much-needed quiet time amongst the chaos of their day. The relaxed atmosphere meant we could capture a lot of natural, candid moments, which is exactly what I love most about photographing weddings.
Portraits in the Countryside
One of my favourite parts of the day was taking Beth & Ant for a gentle stroll around the barn’s gardens and nearby fields just before sunset. The lush spring greenery and soft golden light made a perfect backdrop for relaxed, romantic shots. Nothing was overly posed; it was just the two of them enjoying a quiet moment together before heading back to celebrate with their guests.
Why I Loved Photographing This Wedding
Beth & Ant’s wedding was everything I adore about being a wedding photographer: real emotion, a relaxed setting, and the chance to capture memories in a venue that feels like a warm embrace.
If you’re planning your own barn-style wedding celebration and want photographs that feel as joyful and relaxed as your day, I’d love to chat. Whether you’re drawn to barn wedding photography or want something full of colour and personality, your wedding photos should be as unique as you are.
